About The Site

Kawabe Chieco as Sailor Mercury

Myu Corner is a website devoted to the Sailor Moon live musicals, or SeraMyu. I first got into said musicals in 2007. In late 2009, I decided to make a website about it. It is called Myu Corner after the common fan term "myu" (short for myujikaru, the katakana word for "musical") and the "corners" (segments) of the fankans, like the Shitsumon (Question) Corner. For about four months, it existed as a Blogger blog with a custom domain. But, this being before Blogger let you customize your template, I became frustrated with the lack of customization options and decided to make an HTML version of the site.

And what you are looking at it is that version, which launched in early 2010. I also created a Facebook fan page for the site in June 2010, and a Wordpress "site updates" blog, called Myu Corner Updates, around the same time. I kept the site up pretty well until about October or November 2010, when I got stressed out because I couldn't keep up with the Song of the Week schedule and kept releasing the Song of the Week pages late. It might also have had to do with the fact that I was in my last year of university at the time. Anyway, I decided to give myself a break (for my sanity) and the site lay dormant for over a year. I didn't totally forget it though, spending a good amount of time during that period writing character bios for the site, and then typing them up (mostly on the go, using Notepad on my phone). Finally, in January 2012, I made a small update to the site, I think to fix some links or something. I also added it to my web design portfolio site, Rebirth By Design, a few months later. I then promptly failed to update it again for many months. Now I have updated it again, and intend to update it more regularly. And as soon as I fill in all the blanks with the content, I'm going to give it a nice, updated layout. And try to get more likes on the Facebook page (it has 30 likes right now). And re-set up the blog (which disappeared when I recently switched web hosts). Myu Power, Make Up!!

The Webmistress

Hi there! My name is Reneé, alias Misty (as mentioned above, this site used to be under my Blogger account, and I use that alias there). I am 28 years old and I live near San Diego, CA. Last year, I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Writing Studies, with a minor in French, and earlier this year I got a Certificate of Achievement in Web Development and Design.

I actually thought SeraMyu was really over-the-top the first time I saw pictures of it, and so I didn't watch it. Then one day in June 2007, I was home after a bad day at work and decided to watch Chou Wakusei Death Vulcan no Fuuin, which I'd downloaded to use in a Kawabe Chieco tribute video I was making for YouTube (I'd become a fan of her through PGSM, the Sailor Moon live action series, which I discovered in 2006, and subsequently discovered her music as a result). I liked it a lot, and from there I have seen five other myus, several clips of myus I haven't seen in full, and several omake segments. Later, I began doing SeraMyu songdubs on my backup YouTube channel, inspired to do so by the efforts of my now friend Comet-chan. Then, late in 2009, I decided to make this site. And in early 2012, Myu Corner gained a sister: I was approved to make a fanlisting for SeraMyu and decided to make said fanlisting a subdomain of this site. The result: Singing Soldiers, the one and only SeraMyu fanlisting.

Today, I am still a SeraMyu fan, even though I haven't done a good job updating this site. I am also a fan of anime and manga (in general), literature, mythology, history, film, and languages. My hobbies are reading, writing, using the computer, singing, dancing, acting, and playing video games. My dream is to be a published author, something I am currently working towards (I just won NaNoWriMo 2012!). I would also like to hone my skills in web design and in French. At the moment, I am in that "inbetween" stage between college and the real world, still trying to figure things out. In the meantime, I am actively following the Sailor Moon fandom while writing error guides for the Kodansha manga re-release for my affiliate Miss Dream, reading the new fan e-zine Lunacy Magazine, and anxiously awaiting the new anime coming out next summer, which I'm hoping will inspire more SeraMyu musicals to be made as well.

So, this site is in a much better HTML version, hosted on its own server. And I will try to continue updating it, while dealing with adult life and my Asperger Syndrome (an autistic spectrum disorder). I'm pleased to make your acquaintance, and I hope to get to know you better in the future!
