Last Dracul Saishuu Shou -
Chou Wakusei Death Vulcan no Fuuin
Super Revue Show

Ono Hikari sings 'Chasin' After You'

Instead of service numbers, the musical Chou Wakusei Death Vulcan no Fuuin was followed by a Super Revue Show consisting solely of singing and dancing. This was considered "Part 2" of the musical, but as it is more an omake than a musical, I am covering it in this section.

The Revue Show begins with an instrumental intro entitled "Prologue." Then the four Inners get to sing their theme songs. All of these debuted in Transylvania no Mori (Kaiteiban) except for Mars's song, which debuted in the original Transylvania no Mori but wasn't included on that musical's soundtrack. First is Murata Ayumi as Venus singing "Traditional the Grace! Ai no Arashi," Venus's theme song. I personally love this song; Murata-san is one of my favorite Venus actresses. The song is very upbeat too. Second is Kawabe Chieko (Mercury) singing Mercury's theme song "Drive Me the Mercury." As expected, she OWNS this song. Her successor, Manami, also sang it, but in my opinion no one sings this song quite like Chieko-chan. It is her song forever. Third is Hayashi Yuriko (Jupiter) singing Jupiter's theme song "Zigzag Slash." She does a good job, though I think Watanabe Mai (who performs the song later) does a better job with it. Last is Yoshida Megumi (Mars) singing Mars's theme song "Honoo no Messenger." She is the only one of the four who did not originate the song she is singing (the song was originated by her predecessor Kanda Eri), but she sings it really well, especially considering Death Vulcan was her first myu.

Next, we have two songs by Ono Hikari, who played Vampir in this myu as well as the two Transylvania no Mori myus. First she sings "Onna Kaizoku no Sakusen," the theme song for Loof Merrow and her crew from the Kaguya myus, dressed (I think) as Loof Merrow (who she played in those myus). Then she sings "Chasin' After You," one of the Starlights' theme songs, dressed as her character, Taiki Kou/Star Maker. Then we get to hear Edo Hidemasa (Tuxedo Kamen), who graduated after this myu, sing "Miracle Twister," which he also sang at two fankans (Last Dracul Jokyoku and Transylvania no Mori) before this. He sounds off-tune (particularly in the second part), but at least the performance is better than at the Last Dracul fankan. After he sinks under the stage via a trap door in the floor, the Outers show up to sing "Kokoro Tabanete Makin' for the Right" (for some odd reason they don't sing the "Watchin' on the Sight" version from Transylvania no Mori). Interestingly, Takagi Nao (Uranus) helped originate this song, but the other three Outers have only done the "Watchin' on the Sight" version before. Still, they are very in sync when they perform it. Nao even gets a bit of a solo and gets to rise out of the trap door in Edo's place (maybe because she has seniority over the other three, even Yuuka, who came in two musicals later than Nao).

The girls sing 'La Fatalité'

Then we get the well-known "Pretty Soldier Sailormoon Non-Stop Medley," often just called the Non-Stop Medley, sung by all the senshi as well as Ajima Niki, who played JunJun/Sailor Juno in Transylvania no Mori (Kaiteiban) and Werewolf Child Levi in this musical, dressed as Sailor Juno. This medley includes vocal performances of all of the major theme songs up to that point – "La Soldier," "L'amour d'amour Moonlight," "La Moon," "Densetsu Seitan," "La Fatalité Sei Senshi," "Everlasting Moonlight," "LINK," and "FIRE" – with instrumental bits in between of other songs, including "Double Moonlight Romance," "Chasin' After You," and "Minna Dareka ni Aisarete." Fans (such as curiosayh) have pointed out that, interestingly enough, the vocally-performed songs are in the order they debuted in the myus! "La Soldier" debuted in Gaiden, "L'amour d'amour Moonlight" in the first S myu (musical 2), "La Moon" in the SuperS myu, "Densetsu Seitan" in Sailor Stars, "La Fatalité" in Eien Densetsu, "Everlasting Moonlight" in Shin Densetsu Kourin, "LINK" in Kaguya Shima Densetsu, and "FIRE" in Last Dracul Jokyoku. Neat, huh?

The Revue Show ends with an instrumental "Finale." Then, as an encore, the whole cast sings "Mitsumeteite Yo" from Transylvania no Mori. Miyuki, who also graduated after this myu, seems pretty emotional here. (I recall her line in the song "Don't cry dear friends" making me emotional when I recently rewatched this omake, since I knew that seven years after this performance she would be no longer with us). And so Miyuki's reign as Moon ends; she will show up again as a guest at the Black Lady fankan (to pass the tiara to Marina) and at the 10th Anniversary Talk Show, before moving on to other things, only to have her life and career cut tragically short by her untimely death in 2008. We'll miss you, Miyuki-san!!
